Yahaya Bello Wins: Supreme Court Affirms His Victory

The Supreme Court on Tuesday affirmed the election of Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State. The 7-man panel headed by Justice Sylvester Ngwata affirmed the election after listening to the closing statements of all the counsel.

In a unanimous judgement the apex court dismissed the appeal filed by Hon. James Faleke, running mate to late Abubakar Audu, the initial candidate of the APC, and a former Governor of the State, Captain Idris Wada, who was also the candidate of the PDP for the election.

The Supreme Court will provide reasons for its decision on September 30.
