The question most fans of Chidinma Ekile, popularly known as “Miss Kedike” have been asking is, “What is Chidinma up to in the music industry?”
Chidinma rose to stardom after winning the third season of MTN Project Fame West Africa and every one took considerable interest in her incredible talent. Since winning the reality show, the sultry singer has failed to disappoint until recently.
Chidinma who can be tagged “every male artistes’ crush” held the industry tight with hit songs like “Emi Ni Baller”, “Kedike”, “Jankoliko”, among others and she has received quite a number of awards for her admired talent.
Chidinma is energetic and charming with her songs, but what is happening? For over a year now, Chidinma has failed to release any music.
The singer was once accused of being in a relationship with flavour after they kissed in the music video of “Ololufe”, a song flavour features her on. Her contract with Clarence Peter’s Capital Hills Music, ended in February 2016 and she decided not to renew the contract.
She was also reportedly signed to Flavour’s “2Nite Music Group” days before they released another single, “Mama” together. The single was produced by versatile sound engineer, MasterKraft.
It is now visible enough that Chidinma is no more active in the music industry. Her last official single, “Lorry” featuring M.I Abaga was released in September 2015.
This year, she has no single to her credit, should we say she has bowed to competing acts like Simi, Niniola,Yemi Alade and others?
No one knows what is responsible for her going out of circulation, but one thing is certain her (including me) can’t wait to hear from her.-Kuti Ibukunoluwa@Slimibk
